Choose the wireless 60E chassis by its exact suffix

FWF-60E combines the FortiWiFi wireless interface with ten Gigabit RJ45 connections: seven internal, two WAN and one DMZ. Fortinet's exact column lists 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, one USB and one RJ45 console connection. The ordinary FWF-60E has no internal SSD or PoE power budget in that table. The 128 GB storage column belongs to FWF-61E; the separate FG-60E-POE row describes a different wired power-supplying appliance. These variants should not be exchanged solely because their names share 60E.

Match the radio identity to the installation

The historical ordering table identifies FWF-60E as the wireless order. The base name alone does not establish the radio approval or permitted channels for every destination. Verify the supplied label, regulatory domain and destination requirements before accepting a replacement. Do not assume concurrent dual-band operation or an antenna configuration from the short standards list; confirm the exact radio behavior needed by the site. Use the inspection profile when comparing capacity

The 2019 sheet reports up-to 400 Mbps IPS, 250 Mbps NGFW and 200 Mbps threat protection under enterprise traffic mix, with logging enabled. Its basic firewall measurement is 3 Gbps using specified UDP packet sizes. NGFW includes firewall, IPS and application control; threat protection adds malware protection. These are separate tests, so the basic figure does not describe throughput with every inspection function enabled. Validate the intended workload rather than promising the laboratory maximum.

Power, firmware and order acceptance

The exact FWF-60E column specifies an external 12 VDC adapter, a 100-240 VAC 50-60 Hz supply input, fanless desktop construction and historical average/maximum consumption of 12.6/15.2 W. Confirm the delivered adapter and accessories. Fortinet's model table, checked on 9 October 2026, lists 7.4.11 for FortiWifi-60E.
