Three-Year FortiGate 71G UTP Hardware Bundle

FG-71G-BDL-950-36 includes one physical FortiGate 71G and a 36-month Unified Threat Protection bundle. Fortinet's Secure SD-WAN ordering guide lists the 71G storage variant under hardware bundle code 950. The BDL identifier distinguishes it from a service renewal.

UTP security fit

Fortinet positions UTP for network and web defense. It builds on ATP services such as IPS, antimalware, application control and sandbox detection, and adds URL/DNS/video filtering plus anti-botnet and command-and-control protection. Advanced DLP, inline malware prevention, IoT correlation and attack-surface monitoring are Enterprise-tier considerations rather than assumed UTP inclusions.

Branch readiness checklist

Confirm inspected throughput, WAN and LAN interfaces, VPN scale, local-storage use, logging destination, power, placement, shipping region and FortiOS baseline. Define the web, DNS, application and malware policies that will be enabled at acceptance.

Three-year operational cycle

Register the hardware and entitlement to the correct customer account. Test licensed services and logging before handover. Review policy effectiveness, false positives, capacity and open support recommendations annually.

Renewal boundary

Before expiry, decide whether UTP remains sufficient or whether Enterprise controls or a platform migration are required. Do not use an FC-only renewal when new physical 71G hardware is required.
