Resolve DD before ordering

FG-500E-BDL-950-DD is not a complete term-specific procurement line. Fortinet’s official ordering guide uses DD as the duration placeholder and maps 950 to the Unified Threat Protection bundle. A quote must replace the placeholder with a manufacturer-authorized duration and entitlement record.

500E chassis verification

The FortiGate 500E architecture has eight numbered copper interfaces, eight 1 GigE SFP positions numbered 9–12 plus S1, S2, VW1 and VW2, and two 10 GigE SFP+ ports X1 and X2. Fortinet states that X1 and X2 cannot be configured as 1 GigE SFP interfaces.

Dedicated control paths

The HA and MGMT copper interfaces are not connected to the NP6 processor. Fortinet describes separate control and management paths so HA and management traffic are isolated from data processing. Preserve those roles in the rack cable schedule rather than consuming them as ordinary data ports.

Quote acceptance

Require the finalized SKU, duration, service dates, serial-to-contract association and security-service list. Reject any offer that leaves DD unresolved or silently changes the 500E hardware to 501E; the official architecture covers both models, but the order identity does not.
