FG-3401E storage variant
FG-3401E is the storage-equipped AC model in the FortiGate 3400E family. Fortinet's ordering table specifies 4 TB onboard SSD, two AC power supplies, four 100 GE QSFP28 slots and 24 25 GE SFP28 slots, including dedicated HA ports.
Do not collapse 3400E and 3401E
The onboard SSD is a defining difference from FG-3400E. The DC-powered FG-3401E-DC is also a separate order. Preserve the full model through quotation, rack power design, receiving and asset registration.
High-speed media plan
Build an explicit optic and cabling matrix for every QSFP28 and SFP28 link. Validate breakout requirements, supported transceivers, fiber type, HA connections and switch-side compatibility before shipment.
Operational acceptance
Confirm FortiOS eligibility, storage/logging design, HA failover, management isolation, routing scale and the intended inspection profile. FortiCare and FortiGuard services are separate unless another line on the authorized quotation identifies them.
