FG-1800F Exact Appliance Boundary
FG-1800F is the standard dual-AC FortiGate 1800F hardware SKU. It is distinct from FG-1800F-DC and from FG-1801F variants that add internal storage. The base PID does not by itself establish a FortiGuard security bundle, FortiCare term, transceiver inventory or regional power-cord selection.
Interface Groups and Deployment Fit
Fortinet documents sixteen GE RJ-45 data ports, eight GE SFP slots, twelve grouped 25GE SFP28/10GE SFP+/GE SFP slots and four 100GE QSFP28/40GE QSFP+ slots, plus separate management and HA interfaces. Ports 25-36 change speed in groups, and the 100/40GE interfaces support breakout modes under documented FortiOS releases. Optics, breakout cabling and the intended interface-speed map must therefore be designed together.
Performance and Service Scope
The official data sheet publishes 22 Gbps IPS, 17 Gbps NGFW and 15 Gbps threat-protection throughput under Fortinet test conditions. Real sizing must account for enabled inspection, traffic mix, SSL inspection and HA design. Confirm firmware eligibility, registration transfer, support level and security subscriptions separately from the appliance.
