FC-10-FVM16-929-02-60 is a 5 year legacy Advanced Threat Protection service entitlement for one existing, licensed FortiGate VM16. It is not a FortiGate VM license, deployable image, cloud instance, physical appliance or compute subscription.

Security-Service Scope

Fortinet describes ATP as foundational protection built around intrusion prevention, anti-malware/antivirus, cloud-based sandboxing, application control and FortiCare Premium. Web and DNS filtering are associated with broader UTP coverage and must not be added to this ATP page without separate contractual evidence.

Licensed VM Boundary

Fortinet documents FortiGate VM16 for up to 16 vCPUs; actual performance depends on the deployment platform and traffic mix. It is a sixteen-vCPU high-capacity virtual firewall tier. VM16 requires a production-grade capacity and resilience record. Preserve performance baselines, east-west and north-south traffic roles, cluster membership, log-retention architecture and emergency-change authority. ATP is a security entitlement; it neither provides the underlying compute host nor replaces recovery engineering.

VM16 evidence should retain a capacity baseline for each traffic direction, cluster recovery timing and the owner of emergency inspection bypass. A large entitlement must correspond to an actively governed high-capacity deployment.

Contract Decision

A five-year commitment requires lifecycle approval. Compare the contract end date with the virtual-infrastructure roadmap, FortiOS support, capacity forecast and migration budget, then perform annual fitness checks to limit stranded entitlement risk.

For this five-year VM16 line, require executive lifecycle approval because the protected architecture may change materially. Annual reviews should cover compute reservations, east-west segmentation, cryptographic inspection, FortiOS support and migration funding. Define the threshold that triggers a larger tier or redesigned control plane.

• Match platform token FVM16 and the registered virtual serial.
• Confirm 60 months from the authorized quote and current expiry record.
• Verify the FortiCare account, deployment platform, FortiOS version and base VM license separately.
• Check for overlapping ATP, UTP, Enterprise or marketplace coverage.
• Record HA, backup, event-retention and signature-update ownership.
