FortiGate 80F-DSL operating boundary

Validate serial, account, service country, dates, prerequisites, FortiOS, DSL service type, provider parameters, backup WAN, configuration custody and external logging. The entitlement does not include a carrier line or appliance.

Service acceptance

Confirm FortiCloud account, region, serial, administrator custody, cloud connection and intended management functions. Measure actual event volume and hosted retention rather than assuming unlimited storage.

Platform-specific evidence

Generate a known event, retrieve it from the intended cloud view and compare device identity, policy fields and timestamps with the external customer record. Assign an owner for delayed or missing ingestion. Correlate DSL synchronization and provider state with route, policy, application outcome and external event evidence. Test the approved backup path without treating carrier loss as proof of a security-service failure.

Annual DSL commissioning record

Capture provider handoff, line parameters, synchronization state, routes, policy ownership, backup WAN and an external event during ordinary service. Preserve the provider order and approved escalation route.

Thirty-day line baseline

Record stable synchronization, negotiated state, ordinary application behavior and one controlled backup-path event. Separate provider faults from policy or entitlement behavior.

Quarterly line and service sample

Compare stable, degraded and backup-path behavior with the purchased service outcome. Record provider incidents, intentional maintenance and customer wiring work separately.

Annual failure budget

Summarize synchronization loss, degraded periods, failover time, application impact and evidence gaps. Assign corrective thresholds rather than accepting repeated brief faults as normal.

Twelve-month escalation rehearsal

Use the real provider support route to confirm circuit identifiers, authorized contacts and diagnostic evidence without reporting a false outage. Record how a security-service case is separated from a carrier-access case.

Annual carrier alignment

Match entitlement renewal with carrier contract and branch maintenance dates, then assign remediation for recurring line instability.

Exclusions

The line includes no appliance, local disk, unlimited hosted storage, complete log generation, external compliance archive, analyst monitoring or automatic account recovery.
