FC-10-0501E-189-02-DD Migration Service Identity

FC-10-0501E-189-02-DD is one FortiConverter configuration-conversion service request for an existing FortiGate 501E migration. It does not include the firewall appliance, deployment labor, ongoing management, FortiDeploy or a reusable FortiConverter tool license.

Conversion Boundary

Fortinet maps service code 189 to FortiConverter Service. The deliverable translates a supported third-party firewall configuration or another FortiGate configuration into a FortiOS configuration file for the named target. The customer still owns discovery, design decisions, validation, deployment, rollback and post-cutover acceptance.

Before submission, identify source vendor and release, target FortiOS release, interfaces, zones, routing, NAT, VPNs, address objects, services and policy intent. Unsupported or ambiguous constructs require an explicit design decision; a syntactically converted file is not proof of functional equivalence.

Target Review Plan

The platform token 0501E identifies a storage-equipped campus and data-center target. Inventory the source firewall, 501E target serial, two 10Gb handoffs, SSD logging purpose, HA plan, interfaces, routes, objects, policies and VPNs.

Separate conversion from deployment: review translated objects against the target port and zone design before importing anything. Preserve local logging and media-custody requirements as target-specific controls.

Validate object counts, disabled rules, NAT, VPN selectors, routing and administrative access in a lab or maintenance window. Archive source, converted and approved configurations with reviewer names.

For a 501E target, create a worksheet that maps every source interface and aggregate to the intended copper, SFP or 10Gb handoff. Mark which policies must generate local SSD evidence and which are exported centrally. Test policy order and NAT separately on each high-speed path, then verify local events before approving the final file. The storage custodian records media handling independently from the conversion reviewer.

Request Evidence

The DD order form is fulfilled per service request. Preserve the authorized quote, target serial, source scope, submission date and completion record; it is not a recurring hardware-support entitlement.
