It does not include the FortiGate appliance, 24x7 support, deployment services, guaranteed prevention, endpoint protection or a managed SOC.

Commercial Boundary

Code 900 is a historical 8x5 UTM bundle. The DD suffix requires quote-specific dates. Confirm current orderability, service update support and the Fortinet-approved successor instead of treating the page as a firewall hardware listing.

Validation Workflow

For the 500E, separate high-volume application and web controls from higher-risk IPS, malware and sandbox decisions. Select representative policy groups, validate updates, test an allowed business application, a blocked category and a safe security sample, then inspect performance and logs. Security owns detection thresholds while application owners approve exceptions; 8x5 support escalation remains a distinct workflow.

For the 500E, test policy groups in stages so a false positive cannot affect every application at once. Start with monitor-only evidence, obtain application-owner review, then enforce a narrow rule and observe resource use and logs. Record the rollback trigger and an emergency bypass expiry.
