FC-10-0500E-301-02-DD RMA Identity

FC-10-0500E-301-02-DD is a per-device Secure RMA Service entitlement associated with an existing FortiGate 500E. It does not include a new firewall, base FortiCare contract or FortiGuard security subscription.

Service Boundary

Fortinet states that Secure RMA allows the customer not to return defective hardware, protecting data within the customer premises. It is a per-device add-on available with FortiCare support and can be combined with Priority RMA where eligible. Secure RMA is a data-custody option, not a firewall appliance or an unconditional expedited-delivery promise.

Document the organization’s media-retention, destruction, legal-hold and chain-of-custody requirements before activation. Identify who authorizes nonreturn and how the failed asset is quarantined and disposed of. If faster replacement is also required, verify a separate eligible Priority RMA service rather than assuming Secure RMA changes delivery speed.

Platform Acceptance

The ordering token 0500E identifies a diskless E-series campus platform. Document HA design, central logging, protected campus services and the replacement maintenance window. The 500E record must remain separate from storage-equipped 501E and its media-handling process.

For the 500E, document campus traffic dependencies, HA role, central logging, configuration repository and the authorized maintenance window. Because it is recorded as diskless, recovery depends on an intact external evidence path and current backup. Keep receiving contacts and rack access separate from 501E storage procedures. The RMA decision should identify which business services are restored first and how the replacement is validated before returning to production.

The 500E recovery gate is campus traffic restoration, HA stability and continuous central evidence collection. Verify every critical handoff and management route because the diskless appliance depends on surrounding systems to prove that security operations recovered fully.

Quote and Coverage Check

The DD suffix does not prove a contract duration. Preserve the authorized start and end dates, covered address, serial, FortiCare owner, service geography and any co-termination terms from the Fortinet quote. Confirm the prerequisite support contract before accepting this add-on.
