FortiGate 80F operating boundary

Validate serial, account, service country, dates, prerequisites, supported FortiOS, WAN ownership, configuration backup and external logging. This service line adds no appliance or local evidence storage.

Service acceptance

Inventory exposed services, profile owners, update health, signature action and exception expiry. Use exploit-safe validation and route recurring detections to software or architecture remediation.

Platform-specific evidence

Retain signature, affected flow, interface, endpoint role, policy action and remediation owner outside the diskless appliance. Remove suppressions that no longer have a compensating control. Use representative branch traffic, one controlled policy or recovery change and an externally retrieved event. Record circuit, interface, policy, action and reviewer.

Five-year branch lifecycle

Review software support, circuit contracts, load, power, account custody, recovery and external evidence every year. A long entitlement does not freeze the original architecture.

Dependency register

Track branch lease, carrier term, rack power, identity systems, certificate owners, archive capacity and replacement budget. Record which dependency can force retirement before entitlement expiry.

Early-exit triggers

Set triggers for unsupported software, recurring outage, sustained utilization, evidence loss, replacement constraints or site redesign. Link every trigger to funding and migration ownership.

Year-three successor checkpoint

Use representative routes, policies, VPNs and incidents to test application behavior, evidence export and rollback on the intended successor. Maximum data-sheet values are not acceptance evidence.

Carrier and service exit sequence

Coordinate circuit termination, replacement access acceptance, SD-WAN policy migration and entitlement transition. Keep a tested rollback path until applications and external evidence operate on the successor design.

Long-term authorization review

Exclusions
