FC-10-0040F-928-02-36 is an electronic Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) service entitlement for an existing FortiGate 40F. It does not include a FortiGate appliance, replacement chassis or physical shipment.

Security-Service Scope

Fortinet describes ATP as foundational protection for network and file threats. The current bundle includes intrusion prevention, anti-malware with antivirus and cloud-based sandboxing, application control and FortiCare Premium. Web and DNS filtering are UTP capabilities and must not be assumed from this ATP SKU.

Lifecycle and Platform

FortiGate 40F is a compact, diskless F-series branch platform. Document its central log destination, WAN recovery owner and exact asset serial rather than treating the service as hardware stock. The branch acceptance file should identify primary and backup circuits, remote-management path, outage escalation contact, enabled IPS and anti-malware profiles, and the off-box event-retention service. Keep the 40F record separate from storage-equipped or larger branch families. Before each activation period, reconcile FortiCare ownership with the site inventory and verify that this branch will remain deployed through the requested entitlement end date. Because this platform is recorded as diskless, confirm the external log and evidence-retention path separately from ATP coverage.

Branch evidence should include the site code, circuit inventory, remote-access method and destination used for security events. The small form factor does not remove the need for an accountable recovery path; ATP activation should be accepted only after those remote-operability facts agree with the asset register.

Acceptance Evidence

For a thirty-six-month order, confirm that the appliance will remain in production across all three budget periods. Preserve the registered account owner through staffing changes, record the final fiscal year and schedule a midpoint review for serial ownership, firmware support, package fit and any planned migration. Co-terminate related contracts only when the authorized quote states the same dates. Bind the order to the exact appliance serial, FortiCare account, customer region and existing contract record.

The multi-budget acceptance pack needs a midpoint governance record, ownership succession plan and documented exit decision if the platform is replaced early. Track contract dependencies across fiscal periods so an asset move or account transfer does not leave a prepaid entitlement associated with the wrong serial.
