Before Activation

Before activation, match platform token 0040F, the exact serial, FortiCloud or service account, region, compatible FortiOS and existing bundle coverage. The 12 suffix specifies 12 months.

• Confirm FortiGate 40F serial, account, region and 12-month dates.
• Document service-specific scope, prerequisites, owners and excluded responsibilities.
• Run an allowed workflow, negative test, evidence check and recovery or rollback test.
• Retain approvals, results, exceptions, escalation path and renewal decision.

Service Acceptance

Define managed device, approved contacts, change scope, maintenance windows, emergency authority, backup, escalation and acceptance. Submit a controlled change and verify authorization, implementation evidence, rollback readiness and customer closure.

For the compact 40F branch, limit NOC authority to named WAN, LAN, VPN and FortiLink policies that the site owner understands. Prepare a local recovery contact and configuration before the NOC performs its controlled remote change. Interrupt and restore WAN access to verify management reconnection, queued evidence, VPN recovery and downstream device visibility. A branch business owner accepts the user impact while the NOC documents implementation and rollback. The 12-month record removes temporary administrators, lists excluded project work and identifies which emergencies still require customer approval.

The 40F managed-service runbook uses a small branch responsibility matrix. Local staff retain authority over physical access and business timing; the NOC may perform only listed WAN, VPN, policy and firmware tasks. Evidence includes the pre-change file, remote session, branch confirmation, WAN reconnection and FortiLink status. An unreachable branch invokes the local recovery contact rather than repeated remote changes. At the 12-month review, temporary access, recurring site issues and tasks requiring an on-site project are removed from routine NOC scope.

Maintain a responsibility matrix for customer, NOC, security and application owners. Review change history, administrator access, unresolved incidents and service dates before renewal.
