Distinguish the AC and DC appliance
Fortinet’s November 19, 2024 quick-start guide covers both FAD-1200F and FAD-1200F-DC. The FAD-1200F rear panel has two redundant 100–240V AC supplies. The DC variant is a separate configuration and should not be substituted without reviewing the site power design.
Use the numbered interface groups
The hardware map groups copper data connections as ports 1–8, GE SFP slots as 9–16 and 10GE/GE SFP+ slots as 17–24. MGMT and HA are separate connections. Prepare a numbered port schedule and verify the required transceivers before installation.
Order for the actual rack and support requirements
Confirm model-specific mounting rails, supplied cables, condition, compatible software and service eligibility for the offered unit. This is an application delivery controller, not a FortiAuthenticator identity appliance; identity-server user capacities are not specifications for this product. Do not apply the newer FortiADC G-series figures to this F-series model.
