ISR 4351 Application Experience Bundle

ISR4351-AX/K9 is an exact Cisco order on the ISR 4351 with three onboard Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, three NIM slots, one ISC slot and two service-module slots. Bundle boundary: AX combines APP and SEC technology-package scope; UC licensing and PVDM voice hardware are not part of the AX identity.

Throughput and workload boundary

200 Mbps default aggregate throughput, upgradeable to 400 Mbps with the documented performance license. Published aggregate throughput is a licensing boundary; encryption, application inspection, voice media and modular services can change measured workload capacity.

Exact procurement checks

Verify APP and SEC entitlement state, throughput license, every WAN NIM and both service-module positions. An AX order can host modular services, but it does not prove a particular compute, storage, voice or carrier module is installed.

Model-specific migration evidence

Export application-recognition policy, QoS classes, path-selection logic, security rules and service-module workloads. Test replacement sizing with representative encrypted applications rather than relying on clear-text forwarding figures.

Lifecycle plan

Cisco ended sale for this ISR 4000 generation and identifies 30 November 2028 as the last date of support for the affected platform family. Evaluate the published Catalyst 8200 or 8300 migration family against exact ports, NIM functions, performance, licenses and voice resources; do not assume module or entitlement transfer.

Receiving record

Capture exact PID and serial, memory, flash, power supply, NIM/ISC/service-module inventory, PVDM where applicable, IOS XE release, performance license and active technology-package entitlements. Save configuration and test evidence with the asset.
