C9500-32QC-EDU is Cisco's education order for the C9500-32QC platform. The official K-12 list calls this the 32 x 40G K-12 SKU, while the platform data sheet describes C9500-32QC as a high-performance 32-port 40G QSFP+ switch.

40G density is the primary identity

Use this PID when the design is based on dense 40G connectivity and the exact education procurement path. The C9500-32C-EDU order is the 32 x 100G alternative. Compare optic inventory, peer speeds, fiber plant and future 100G requirements before treating the two EDU names as equivalents.

Mixed-speed operation needs evidence

Cisco documents 40G and 100G operation with supported QSFP modules on C9500-32QC, plus 1G or 10G using the documented CVR-QSFP-SFP10G adapter. Validate port restrictions, transceiver support and IOS XE behavior for the intended configuration rather than assuming every cage supports every speed simultaneously.

Use the 32QC accessory matrix

The C9500-32QC power matrix lists supported 650W AC, 650W low-line AC and 930W DC families, and Cisco maps this platform to the C9K-T1 fan-tray family.
