C9300-24UXB-A Higher-Scale Multigigabit Identity

C9300-24UXB-A is Cisco's higher-scale 24-port multigigabit UPOE Catalyst 9300 with deep buffers, modular uplinks and Network Advantage. Cisco lists access-port rates of 100 Mbps and 1, 2.5, 5 or 10 Gbps. The B variant is therefore a material platform distinction, not a cosmetic suffix.

When the B variant is justified

Document the scale or burst-buffer requirement that leads to this higher-scale model. Preserve expected endpoint counts, traffic bursts, uplink contention and queueing objectives. If the design only needs ordinary 24-port multigigabit access, compare the standard C9300-24UX-A rather than assuming the higher-scale hardware is automatically required.

Multigigabit endpoint qualification

For every port expected to operate above 1G, record the endpoint NIC, target negotiated speed, cabling category and tested channel length. A 10G/mGig switch port cannot make an unsupported endpoint or cable plant operate at a higher rate. Confirm fallback behavior and power negotiation during commissioning.

Power and uplink bill of materials

Cisco model records list an 1100 W AC supply and a 560 W PoE budget for this PID family. Reconcile actual endpoint demand with the ordered supply configuration and resilience target. Select the modular uplink network module and media separately, validating upstream speed, distance and redundancy.

Entitlement and stack evidence

Record Network Advantage, the software subscription and Smart Account assignment with the full PID. Cisco lists StackWise-480 and StackPower support; retain stack-member compatibility, cabling, power topology, IOS XE alignment and failure-test results.
