Twenty-four-port fiber access with Essentials

C9300-24S-E is a Cisco Catalyst access switch with 24 1G SFP access ports with a separately selected modular uplink network module. Its E suffix selects Network Essentials; it does not change the physical port layout.

Exact port acceptance

Inventory the 24 access-side 1G SFP modules separately from the modular uplink network module. Record optic wavelength, fiber type, peer and DOM readings; Network Essentials does not turn an unsupported optic or missing uplink module into a valid link.

Fiber-access optic matrix

Build an access-side optic matrix for all twenty-four SFP ports, including wavelength, connector, fiber class, transmit/receive levels and peer. Keep that matrix separate from the modular uplink inventory so a failed access optic is not replaced with an unsupported uplink part.

License boundary

Network Essentials is the base default perpetual Network Stack tier; advanced routing scale, segmentation, resiliency and MACsec-256 features listed for Advantage are not implied.

Stack and power boundary

Catalyst 9300 modular platform with StackWise-480 and StackPower support. No copper PoE access-port claim; verify installed power supplies and optic load. Capture PSU, fan, stack-cable and stack-power PIDs and verify the target IOS XE release before mixing members.

Receiving evidence

Record exact PID, serial, installed license state, access transceivers or copper links, every uplink optic, switch-port tests and configuration backup. Fixed-uplink C9300L models and modular-uplink C9300 models are not interchangeable based only on a shared 24-port count.
