C9300-24P-A Advantage and PoE+ Identity

C9300-24P-A combines twenty-four 1G copper PoE+ access ports with the Network Advantage base-license tier and modular uplinks. The P and A suffixes answer separate procurement questions: P specifies powered access hardware; A specifies the license tier.

Outcome-to-license validation

Document the advanced network outcomes that caused selection of Network Advantage, then verify them against Cisco's current feature and subscription matrix for the proposed IOS XE release. Record software term, Smart Account and entitlement ownership. This protects a replacement or renewal from being ordered as the physically similar C9300-24P-E without reviewing feature requirements.

Critical PoE inventory

Separate ordinary powered endpoints from devices that must survive an upstream or power-component failure. For each critical endpoint, retain power class, measured draw, port assignment and recovery requirement. Reconcile this inventory with the installed supplies and any StackPower design; the number of PoE+ ports alone is not a survivability calculation.

Uplink and stack dependency map

The switch uses a separately selected network module, so capture module and media PIDs with upstream compatibility. For StackWise-480 and StackPower, diagram data and power rings, member priority, software alignment and the effect of removing any one member. Test failure and restoration using the intended endpoint load.

Operational handover

Handover records should include serial number, license evidence, subscription dates, IOS XE image, module and optic inventory, stack diagram, configuration backup and PoE acceptance results. Keeping these items with the full C9300-24P-A identity prevents a license-only or chassis-only replacement from being treated as complete.
