ASR5K-SW-R10-K9 is the non-spare Cisco ASR 5000 System Software Release 10 PID. It represents a legacy StarOS software release and does not include a chassis, service capacity, feature licenses, installation labor or a current Cisco support entitlement.

Release identity matters

Cisco's exact lifecycle record describes this SKU as Release 10 without a CDMA- or UMTS-specific suffix. Do not substitute the Release 9 CDMA/General PID, a spare form ending in an equals sign, or a later StarOS image merely because all target the ASR 5000 family.

Obsolete software acceptance gate

Release 10 ended sale on March 9, 2013, software maintenance ended March 9, 2014 and all support ended March 31, 2018. Cisco named ASR5K-SW-R12-K9 as the historical replacement. Procurement should therefore require a documented legacy dependency, lawful software entitlement and an approved isolation or migration plan.

Compatibility evidence before use

Record the exact chassis and card revisions, current boot image, configuration backup, required services and rollback method. A valid historical PID does not prove that an image is downloadable, secure, compatible with the installed hardware or eligible for support. Validate those conditions through the customer's Cisco entitlement records before delivery.
