ASR5K-PFU is identified by Cisco as the ASR 5000 non-redundant, single 165A Power Filter Unit. The chassis has two PFU bays, but this PID names one unit rather than the dual-unit ASR5K-PFU/2 order.

DC power boundary

The installation guide specifies a -40 VDC to -60 VDC operating input range and a nominal -48 VDC to -60 VDC range. Cisco states that the ASR 5000 has no AC power-supply option, so an appropriately sized external AC-to-DC converter is required where only AC is available.

Redundancy planning

Two independently operating PFUs provide load sharing and power-feed redundancy. Buying one ASR5K-PFU does not by itself create a redundant pair; validate the second bay, feed design and site breaker/cabling plan.
