ASR5K-C4OC3-SM-K9 CLC2 Channelized Single-Mode Line Card

ASR5K-C4OC3-SM-K9 is the non-spare system ordering form for Cisco's CLC2 Channelized four-port STM-1/OC-3 line card with single-mode SFPs. It is a rear line card for the ASR 5000 platform, not a complete chassis, packet-processing card, software license or support service.

Channelized CLC2 role

Cisco describes CLC2 as a Frame Relay line card for SGSN packet-control-unit connectivity. It exposes four LC duplex ports and channelizes 155.52-Mbps links into as many as 336 T1 or 252 E1 channels.

System PID control

This non-spare PID was ordered as part of a system configuration rather than as an equals-suffix replacement. For installed-base procurement, verify whether the customer actually needs a system-form record or the corresponding spare PID; the physical interface role does not change the ordering distinction. Reconcile the original chassis BOM, active/standby card placement and factory configuration record, because a system-form line item should not be presented as an independently boxed field spare.

Lifecycle and acceptance

Cisco ended sale on January 30, 2016 and ended hardware support on January 31, 2021, with no replacement PID listed in the bulletin. Acceptance should include four-port detection, the required channelized mode, T1/E1 hierarchy checks, LC/SFP inventory and an APS/redundancy test where the deployment uses a standby card.
