ASR5K-4OC3C-SM-K9= OLC2 ATM Single-Mode Line Card

ASR5K-4OC3C-SM-K9= is the spare/replacement ordering form for Cisco's OLC2 ATM four-port STM-1c/OC-3c line card with single-mode SFPs. It is a rear line card for the ASR 5000 platform, not a complete chassis, packet-processing card, software license or support service.

Clear-channel OLC2 role

Cisco identifies OLC2 as the four-port optical ATM line card. Its clear-channel STM-1c/OC-3c role is different from the CLC2 Frame Relay card even though both use four single-mode optical interfaces.

Spare PID control

The equals suffix is material: this is the spare form intended for replacement inventory. Verify that the receiving ASR 5000 has the matching rear-card slot, processing-card relationship, software support and single-mode plant before accepting it as a field spare. Record the failed-card serial, anti-static packaging, replacement serial and return-material disposition; a loose board without traceable spare provenance is not sufficient acceptance evidence.

Lifecycle and acceptance

Cisco ended sale on January 30, 2016 and ended hardware support on January 31, 2021, with no replacement PID listed in the bulletin. Acceptance should include four-port detection, correct ATM STM-1c/OC-3c framing, optical diagnostics for each single-mode SFP and traffic testing against the exact packet-processing card and StarOS release.
