ASR5K-041GE-LX-K9= Original QGLC

ASR5K-041GE-LX-K9= is the spare PID for Cisco's original ASR 5000 QGLC four-port Gigabit Ethernet line card with LX single-mode long-haul SFP interfaces. The `041GE` generation distinguishes it from the later `042GE` QGLC Rev2 even though both expose four LX links.

Legacy-generation fit

Use the exact PID, hardware revision and installed StarOS release to determine whether this original QGLC is required for a like-for-like repair. Do not assume that a Rev2 card can be substituted without validating chassis, software, configuration and operational compatibility. Preserve the existing card inventory and Cisco evidence supporting the selected generation.

Four-circuit migration record

Map each of the four interfaces before maintenance: peer port, VLAN or routed service, addressing, MTU, redundancy group and expected traffic. Record which services share the card-level failure domain. A replacement is not complete until all four paths and their failover behavior have been tested independently.

LX single-mode plant

Confirm the fiber is single-mode, document path length and patching, clean connectors, verify polarity and check the peer optic. Monitor optical diagnostics where exposed, then test links and error counters under representative traffic. Do not treat this LX SKU as the SX multimode or copper QGLC variant.

Capture PID, version, serial and card state after insertion. Confirm four-port enumeration, absence of hardware or programmable alarms and restoration of the intended mappings. Keep the removed card and a rollback plan until traffic, errors and redundancy have remained stable through the agreed observation period.

Spare and lifecycle boundary

The trailing `=` identifies the Cisco spare orderable form; it does not change the original QGLC generation. Cisco lists this PID in the ASR 5000 end-of-sale/end-of-life notice. The item includes no chassis, Rev2 card, fiber plant, software entitlement, support or installation service.
