ASR5K-011G2-LX-K9= Exact GLC2 Identity

ASR5K-011G2-LX-K9= is the spare form of Cisco's second-generation ASR 5000 Gigabit Ethernet Line Card, or GLC2. Cisco identifies this exact PID as a one-port 1 GbE card with an LX single-mode SFP. It is an ASR 5000 component, not an ASR 9000 A9K line card.

One-port LX optical boundary

The supplied 1000BASE-LX interface uses single-mode fiber and an LC duplex connector. Cisco documents a 1310 nm wavelength and a nominal reach of up to 10 km on 9-micron single-mode fiber. Validate the installed SFP PID, peer optic, connector condition, polarity, measured loss and site optical budget rather than relying on distance alone.

Chassis placement and card pairing

Cisco documents GLC2 installation in ASR 5000 line-card slots 17 through 23, 26 through 39 and 42 through 48. The card is installed behind its associated packet-processing card. Record the target chassis slot, paired processing card, hardware revision and running StarOS release before replacement.

Commissioning evidence

Before removal, preserve card, line-card and interface outputs, port configuration, counters and alarms. After insertion, verify the exact PID, version and serial, card state, paired-card mapping, link and activity LEDs, negotiated interface state and clean traffic counters. Exercise the approved redundant path before closing the maintenance window.

Spare and lifecycle decision

The trailing equals sign is part of the Cisco spare PID. Cisco lists both the base and spare forms in the ASR 5000 lifecycle notice. Procurement therefore requires a verified installed base, support/lifecycle decision and tested migration plan; this page does not imply current Cisco support or compatibility with ASR 9000 platforms.

Package exclusions

This line item is one legacy GLC2 spare with the documented LX optical form. It does not include an ASR 5000 chassis, packet-processing card, redundant line card, copper or SX multimode SFP, StarOS license, installation service or support contract.
