Juniper Networks PTX Series PTX5000

The PTX5000 Packet Transport Router provides 10-Gigabit Ethernet, 40-Gigabit Ethernet and 100-Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for large networks and network applications, including Internet Service Providers and high-volume content providers. The PTX5000 is 36 RU and can be configured with up to eight Flexible PIC Concentrators (FPCs), and each of them can be configured with two PICs and a variety of network media types. The PTX Series system architecture cleanly separates control operations from packet forwarding operations, and eliminates processing and traffic bottlenecks, permitting the packet transport router to deliver extreme performance. The PTX5000 has the Industry's densest Integrated100G DWDM with OTN framing, which lays the foundation for multi-layer convergence in the Converged Supercore. It delivers statistical multiplexing, high capacity MPLS switching and Multilayer packet-transport manageability.
